The taiko drums have subsided, in it their place begins a flute and koto. The festival goers begin to make way to the waterscapes as Obon reaches its zenith. Lanterns are floated to guide the spirits of one’s ancestors home so we may honor them an offer our gratitude. The McNeely Conservatory sets the grounds aglow during the final stages of this remarkable event.
