Making it to the top edge of Machu Picchu was the crowning moment of our journey through the Andes on the Inca Trail. There were some challenges during the four day trek, but I came through the other side feeling stronger, enlightened, and more determined.

Just to stand there and see this incredible piece of history firsthand was life changing for me. It was as if I had tapped into my long-dormant childhood dreams, making them vibrant again, and now, real enough to touch. It was a brilliant moment, and the appreciation and gratitude for everyone who helped me on my way was overflowing.

I put my pack down, sat along the edge, and silently took in the view.
